This course offers intensive insight into industrial pump troubleshooting and repair. The student will, through hands-on labs and exercises, learn about pump maintenance, alignment and disassembly as well as predictive and preventative maintenance.
Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to:
Troubleshoot failed pumps and identify methods to prevent future failures
Demonstrate an understanding of predictive and preventative failures
Identify and select the proper type of packing or mechanical seals best suited for a particular application
Demonstrate an understanding of the lubrication needs of pump bearings
Be able to set up a pump for maximum efficiency
Demonstrate an understanding of impeller relationship to pump head pressure
Be able to align a pump and correct pump misalignment
