Industrial Hydraulics Level 1

Industrial Hydraulics – Level 1(Desktop Version)
Course Length: 40 Hours
Maximum Participants: 8

Prerequisites: None
Course Description: In this course students will be introduced to basic hydraulic fundamentals, learn how to safely work with hydraulics, learn to setup and adjust hydraulic systems, be introduced to troubleshooting techniques for industrial hydraulic systems and have the opportunity to practice what they have learned in the classroom through hands-on exercises.
Objectives: After completing this course, students will be able to read hydraulic schematics and identify components and symbols, will understand and demonstrate proper hydraulic system safety procedures, will be able to design common hydraulic circuits and will be able to demonstrate troubleshooting techniques as they apply to hydraulic systems and their components.
Course Outline:
  • Basic Fluid Power Principles and Laws – force, flow, pressure, work and power, Pascal’s Law
  • Reading Hydraulic Schematics – symbols, circuit design, component identification
  • Hydraulic Circuit Components – identification and selection criteria for pumps, valves, motors, cylinders, lines and fittings, control devices and fluids
  • Hydraulic Safety – safe work habits, identifying potential safety hazards, designing circuits for maximum safety
  • Hydraulic Power Circuits – selecting appropriate components, designing efficient circuits, series/parallel circuits, adjusting components within the circuit
  • Basic Troubleshooting – identifying faulty components, learning to recognize failure modes, practicing circuit design to minimize circuit and component problems
